Students of Apeejay School, Noida, have once again showcased outstanding academic performance for the year 2024-25. The three achievers — Naman Sachdeva, Ananya Shrivastava, and Anirudh Gupta of Class VIII-F — share their study strategies, challenges faced, and the support they received from teachers and family in their journey.
Naman said that his study strategy for Class VIII was to stay consistent and regular with his work. “I made it a point to revise daily, complete my assignments on time, and create short notes to help me during revision. I concentrated more on understanding the concepts thoroughly rather than relying on rote memorisation. This approach helped me achieve an overall percentage of 99.8%, excluding the third language,” he said.
While most subjects were manageable with regular study, he did find some topics in Math and Social Studies a bit more challenging. To tackle these, he revised them frequently and sought help from both teachers and friends.
“I received immense support from my teachers. They were always patient and clear in explaining concepts. Naman shared that they also provided us with extra worksheets for practice and constantly encouraged us to ask questions, which made our learning a lot more effective; he loves reading storybooks, cooking simple dishes, and playing badminton.
Ananya, who scored 98.2%, said it felt amazing to see her hard work pay off. “The secret to my success was regular practice. It was never about studying for long hours but rather about how effectively I used the time I had. If I grasped a concept quickly, I moved on, but if something took longer to understand, I stayed with it until I was confident,” she stated.
Among the subjects, she found Hindi the most difficult. To overcome this challenge, the school teachers provided several worksheets and revision materials, which helped,” Ananya said, who is looking to take up the Physics, Chemistry, and Math stream.
Anirudh, who scored 96%, said that throughout the year, his study strategy was a bit unconventional. “I followed a method where I studied for a couple of hours and then took a ten-minute break. I kept repeating this cycle until I was satisfied with my progress. Initially, I used this method mainly during exams, but I’ve now started adopting it more regularly,” he shared.
The subject he found most challenging was Hindi, particularly the grammar portion. It took him time to understand, so I made it a point to practise more. The teachers were very helpful and always addressed his doubts.
“I believe it’s very important to get your doubts clarified. If you don’t, it hampers your understanding of the basic concepts, which can affect your overall grasp of the subject. My parents were also very supportive. My elder sister played a big role too — she helped me a lot with my studies. I truly appreciate all the support I received, both at school and at home,” he said in conclusion.
