Apeejay Stya University recognised by ASSOCHAM for promoting entrepreneurship skills

One of the key strengths of the university lies in its exceptional liberal arts education

Apeejay Stya University (ASU) has been honoured with the ‘Excellence in Liberal Arts Education providing Entrepreneurial Skills’ award by The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) National Council on Education. The prestigious award was presented during the 16th International Education Leadership & Skill Development Summit held in New Delhi.

ASU has established itself as a premier institute for holistic education. A “University with Difference”, its vision and mission encompass a comprehensive approach to nurturing students’ intellectual, personal, and professional growth. The university’s dedication to excellence can be witnessed in its several initiatives and practices.

One of ASU’s key strengths lies in its exceptional liberal arts education. The university offers a diverse range of courses, from humanities to social sciences, arts, and sciences, ensuring students develop a broad foundation of knowledge and skills. This interdisciplinary approach encourages critical thinking, creativity, and a well-rounded perspective.

Education at ASU is not limited to classroom learning. Through workshops, students gain practical insights into various aspects of entrepreneurship, including ideation, business planning, and marketing strategies. These workshops are conducted by industry experts, allowing students to learn from experienced professionals and gain real-world insights.

“Once again, Apeejay Stya University has strongly established its excellence by receiving the ASSOCHAM award, by being the leader and pioneering institution in its focus and approach to providing liberal arts education. Its research and innovation-centric pedagogy promotes overall development while empowering each student to acquire professional skills. There is also a strong focus on nurturing entrepreneurial skills among young learners via hands-on training modules, which give ASU students the edge to be selected in the MNCs.”

-Prof Raj S Dhankar, vice chancellor, Apeejay Stya University

Furthermore, ASU emphasises on industry exposure, recognising the importance of practical experience in shaping entrepreneurial mindsets. Students engage in internships, industry visits, and guest lectures, enabling them to gain first-hand knowledge of the business world and foster valuable connections.

Alumni meetings play a significant role in ASU’s approach to entrepreneurship education. Successful entrepreneurs and alumni of the university are invited to share their experiences, challenges, and insights with current students. These interactions provide invaluable mentorship and networking opportunities, inspiring and guiding aspiring entrepreneurs.

Hands-on activities are also an integral part of ASU’s curriculum. These activities allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. Business simulations, case studies, and collaborative projects enable students to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork abilities, and entrepreneurial thinking.
