The world of education is constantly changing, given the modern requirements. Conventional learning methods demand change to adapt to trending conditions that are way different from the requirements about a decade ago. Attention span and the way of grasping knowledge for students have also been changing. But one of the most effective and evergreen methods in the education domain is guest lectures.

Why do education institutes organise guest lecturers? The reason is simple: it has innumerable benefits and can help students learn from a different perspective and more effectively. Guest lectures are one of the best ways for students to get acquainted with current industry trends. Students get to know about existing situations right from industry professionals, who are facing them and brainstorm solutions for the future.

Moreover, students often look for mentors to answer critical questions about their career choices. Guest lectures allow them to get to know about niche career options and the opportunities across the world. Sometimes, deserving students also receive internship opportunities.

Understanding how guest lectures play a crucial role in a student’s professional development, Apeejay Institute of Design (AID) recently conducted an engaging guest lecture session for its students. For the session, the institute invited a renowned designer, Dr. Romen Sarkar, who shared his experiences and wise ideologies related to his journey in the design industry.

Mr. Sarkar, who has expertise both in professional and academic domain, advised students, “Be sincere and serious to lead a disciplined life. Instead of running after money at the early stage of a career, you must rather follow Kaizen’s theory, “Reach to the pinnacle part” i.e. always change for better or focus on continuous improvement.”

The expert wanted to make students realise the privileges they enjoy and plight of youngsters in those villages.
