Apeejay School, Noida, hosted a memorable event recently that beautifully combined the celebrations of Rakshabandhan and India’s 78th Independence Day, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing cultural and patriotic values among its students. Organised by the Prefectorial Board, the event was a momentous occasion that brought together students, staff, and parents in a unified celebration of the nation’s freedom.
The day began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Head Boy and Head Girl, accompanied by the stirring notes of the National Anthem, as the school grounds reverberated with pride. The ceremony then moved to the auditorium, where an enthusiastic audience gathered.

The celebration further carried out a touching observance of Rakshabandhan, where students eloquently expressed the festival’s significance. Thoughtful video presentations further enriched the celebration, highlighting the festival’s origins and its role in India’s cultural heritage.
The Prefects led the celebrations with a series of soulful songs, vibrant dances, and moving enactments that evoked a deep sense of patriotism among all present. The event concluded with a resounding Jai Hind, echoed from all corners of the auditorium, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of national pride.

A highlight of the event was the Inter-house Singing Competition, where the four houses — Radhakrishnan, Gandhi, Tagore, and Nehru — competed with passion and zeal. Radhakrishnan House emerged victorious, followed by Gandhi House in second place, while Tagore and Nehru Houses shared third.
Ms Smriti Samuel, the Primary Incharge, announced the results, praising the participants for their exceptional efforts and encouraging them to uphold their responsibilities as citizens. The students of class II showcased India’s diversity by dressing in traditional attire from different states, offering the audience a glimpse into the country’s rich cultural tapestry.
