Look around you and you will find that everything alive dances to a certain rhythm. From the leaves on the trees to the wind that sways, dance is ever present. It is a pristine art form that finds a place in every culture of the world, no matter how unique or far. This is exactly what the International Dance Day celebrated annually iterates: Celebrating the value of dance – an art form unlike another.

Dance is a unique art form that combines movement, rhythm, and expression to convey emotions, tell stories, and create a powerful visual experience. It is also an excellent form of workout and fitness as it involves full-body movement, enhances cardiovascular health, improves flexibility, and strengthens muscles.

And Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park has always stood proudly for all art forms. The school understands that for students to dance through the bigger test of life, they must acquire skills beyond the classroom. It is hence that the school located in South Delhi recently held an International Dance Day celebration within their premises.

Students across primary classes participated in various dance activities and gained knowledge about different dance forms. Lifting the spirits of the audience and dancing their hearts out, students across classes 2-5 showcased Russian, Arabian, French and African dance forms.

Further, in tandem with this year’s theme: ‘Dance is future’ students presented a miraculous feast of cross-cultural art forms that were a treat to the eyes of the audience.

Speaking about the success of the event, Primary In -Charge Mrs Shweta Oberoi said, “I congratulate all participating students and teachers for such a lovely event. Their hard work paid off as the audience gave a huge round of applause after every performance. We celebrated International Dance Day in the school to create awareness about various dance forms in the world and I am happy we could achieve this vision.”

She further said, “We want our children to think globally and act locally. We have also told them about the culture of various countries and they loved learning these global dance forms. It has enhanced their vision about the world.”
