It was an exciting and creative day for the bright young minds of class III at Apeejay School, Noida as they took part in the much-awaited Intra-class Computer Competition titled ‘Virtual Strokes’. The event, that took place recently, was all about being creative and using computer acumen through digital poster making.
The event resonated with the philosophy of the school – to provide different avenues for student development, not just in academics. Several creative and digital skills were developed among the students as a result of this activity. Among these are the posters made by the students on thought-provoking topics like ‘Space World’, ‘Save Environment’, and ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’.
Through themes like social and environmental awareness, the posters made by students came alive through imaginative ideas. They developed mysteries of space, showed a greener planet, and encouraged living sustainably – all on the digital platform.

Awards and Incentives
The primary In-charge Ms Smriti Samuel appreciated the effort of students and stated how art and technology can be powerful tools for learning and self-expression. “It’s nice to see how students were able to use technology as a medium and communicate such deeper themes. Apart from encouraging creativity, these competitions let students raise their thoughts on issues.”

Ms Suchin Minhas, PRT, Computer Science, Apeejay School, Noida said that the power of technology can be harnessed to impact the human minds positively and bring forth social change. “With the aforementioned objective, the competition ‘Virtual Strokes’ was organised for the young technocrats of class III. The competition fostered the art-integrated use of technology to create awareness about contemporary environmental concerns,” the educator shared and added that she was helped by Ms Neelam Rana, TGT Computer Science.
The students impeccably highlighted the SDG goals by highlighting efforts such as saving the environment through the 3Rs, collaborating for space exploration, and adopting clean and sustainable energy options, she added. “The competition amalgamated the technical adeptness of the students with their awareness of social responsibility,” Ms Minhas explained.
Two field experts judged the competition: Ms Sujata Bhardwaj, Head of the Computer Science Department, and Ms Anuraddha Mittal, PGT Computer Science. The criteria were content, relevance to the theme, creativity, and making effective use of digital tools. Both judges were amazed by the innovative ideas of the students and their mastery of digital tools at such a young age.
