Hindi is not just our official language. It is our identity, our being and a language that connects our incredibly diverse and huge nation from all ten directions. It is only fitting that we honour this language and celebrate its colossal legacy. Taking a step in this regard, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, recently celebrated Hindi Diwas with immense enthusiasm. The aim was to nurture a deep appreciation and love for the official language.

The event kicked off with delightful poem recitations by students from the nursery to class II, where they eloquently expressed the beauty and importance of Hindi. Speeches were also delivered by students, underlining the significance of Hindi as the soul of our cultural heritage. The thought-provoking addresses emphasised the need to preserve and cherish our linguistic identity.

To encourage students, a special handwriting competition was organised for classes I and II. The competition celebrated the beauty of Hindi script while promoting neatness and attention to detail. Dhvisha Gupta (class I) secured first place, followed by Tejas Sangwan in second, and Hetika Phogat in third. Hitanshi (class II) clinched the top spot, with Rudra in second and Chansci in third.

Speaking about the importance of the Hindi Diwas event, Primary Teacher, Ms Jyoti Goyal mentioned, “Celebrating Hindi Diwas is vital to education for it helps our young learners connect with our rich cultural heritage and embrace the beauty of our national language.” She also said that it is essential to instil a sense of pride towards our mother tongue from an early age in students.

Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha distributed certificates to the winners. He praised the students for their dedication and applauded all participants for their hard work. He also motivated the students to continue using Hindi in their daily lives, by stressing its role in preserving cultural values and enhancing communication.

Overall, the Hindi Diwas celebration at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri left all the students with a sense of pride in the official language, encouraging them to embrace it with confidence and enthusiasm. The event was both a tribute to Hindi and a joyful learning experience for all.
