Harela plantation drive encourages students to care for nature
Students of Apeejay School, Kharghar, celebrate the drive with a green mission as culture and conservation come together
Recently, Apeejay School, Kharghar, organised a thematic assembly on Harela Plantation for students of Classes VI to VIII. The event brought together cultural awareness and environmental responsibility, helping students understand why protecting nature must become part of everyday life.
Harela is a festival associated with greenery, prosperity, and the arrival of the monsoon. Through the assembly, students were introduced to the cultural meaning of the festival and its close connection with nature.
Connecting culture with conservation
The programme also highlighted the importance of trees, biodiversity, and sustainable living. It encouraged students to look beyond celebration and understand the responsibility that comes with caring for the environment.
