CLAT PG 2027 Exam Scheduled for December 6; Registrations Begin on August 3

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has announced the schedule for the Common Law Admission Test for Postgraduate programmes (CLAT PG) 2027. According to the official notification, the entrance examination for admission to LL.M. programmes at participating National Law Universities will be conducted on Sunday, December 6, 2026.

The examination schedule was approved during the meetings of the Consortium’s Executive Committee and Governing Body held on July 18, 2026. Eligible candidates seeking admission to postgraduate law programmes can submit their applications through the official CLAT portal once the registration process begins.

The online application window will open on August 3, 2026, and candidates will have until October 31, 2026, to complete and submit their registration forms. Applicants are advised to keep the required documents ready and complete the process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

CLAT PG 2027 will be conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode. The examination is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., giving candidates two hours to complete the paper.

The Consortium has also confirmed that there will be no changes to the syllabus or examination pattern for the 2027 edition. The paper will consist of 120 passage-based multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying a maximum of 120 marks. Candidates will receive one mark for every correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response.

The examination will assess candidates on a wide range of legal subjects, including Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Contract Law, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, and Environmental Law.

The CLAT PG 2027 admit cards are expected to be released in November 2026. Registered candidates will be able to download their hall tickets by logging into the official portal using their registered mobile number or application credentials.
