Selected as this week’s Apeejay Aspiring Artist, let us read what Lysha has to share about her passion for art and how she makes the most of her passion.
Since when have you been drawing?
I started out when I was in class 5. Drawing was my favourite hobby then and now it is a dear passion.

So, which art form is your favourite and why?
Painting is my favorite art form. Painting gives me an opportunity to express my feelings and even the most profound of emotions I experience, so simply. I love this play of colours.
And how does your school support you as an artist?
I am blessed that I have such a nice school with such caring teachers who always encourage me. I am truly indebted to my teachers and my classmates for their love and support.
Tell me, how would you define art?
Art is something that is created with imagination and skills. It is beautiful as it helps us creatively express important ideas and feelings.
How much time does it take you to complete an artwork? What are the common ideas and themes?
It takes me approximately 30 to 45 minutes to finish an artwork. My common themes and ideas stem from nature and its eternal beauty. I am so inspired by natural sceneries and I love to paint them.
Any upcoming artworks?
I am currently working on Mandala Art. I simply am in awe of this artform. I hope it turns out to be good.
A new artform you wish to learn?
I wish to learn Madhubani art. I find it quite mind-blowing. It is so aesthetic and culturally rich as an artform. I want to learn it very soon. I would love to practice this art.
Lastly, other hobbies apart from art?
Playing badminton and swimming are among my favorite activities. I find them super fun and very relaxing as well.
