Celebrating Teej with Tradition, Talent and Togetherness at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri

With vibrant colours, traditional attire and a lively spirit of togetherness, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri celebrated the festival of Teej with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour. The celebration was organised to familiarise students with the rich cultural heritage and traditional values associated with the festival while creating an atmosphere of joy, creativity and camaraderie.

The campus took on a festive look as students and teachers arrived dressed in beautiful traditional attire. The programme commenced with an introduction to Teej and its cultural significance. Students learnt that the festival symbolises happiness, prosperity, devotion and the arrival of the monsoon season. The celebration encouraged them to appreciate India’s diverse cultural traditions and understand the importance of preserving them for future generations.

One of the major attractions was the Kite Flying Activity, which filled the sky with colourful kites as students participated with excitement and enthusiasm. Beyond adding a playful dimension to the festivities, the activity encouraged teamwork and sportsmanship and gave students an opportunity to experience the joy associated with traditional celebrations.

The Mehendi (Henna) Competition provided another creative highlight. Students showcased their artistic abilities by creating intricate henna designs featuring traditional motifs and festive patterns. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident in the beautifully decorated hands, which added to the visual appeal and celebratory spirit of the occasion.

The cultural programme further brought the campus alive with energetic folk dances and colourful student performances. Dressed in traditional costumes, the performers captivated the audience with graceful movements and lively music. Through these presentations, students celebrated the richness of Indian culture while conveying the importance of keeping traditional art forms and customs alive.

Teachers and students participated wholeheartedly in the celebrations, turning the occasion into an enriching experience of cultural learning and shared enjoyment. The programme concluded with an inspiring address by Dr. Vineet Vasishtha, Principal, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, who extended his heartfelt greetings to everyone on the occasion of Teej.
