This student explains how Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram offers industry-oriented education

Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, continues to shape young professionals across disciplines, and pharmaceutical sciences are no exception. In this interview, Aditya Kumar, a 23-year-old B.Pharm student at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, speaks about his time at the university. Passionate about the pharmaceutical industry, especially quality and analytical research, Aditya enjoys learning practical skills that will prepare him for future career. He further shares how he is building his technical knowledge, confidence and discipline.

What would you say are the two best parts of Apeejay Stya University?

The two best parts of Apeejay Stya University are its industry-oriented education and the supportive faculty. The university focuses on practical learning through laboratories, workshops, seminars, and internships. Alongside, the faculty members are always approachable and encourage students to improve both academically and personally.

What opportunities have the university given you beyond academics?

The university provides many opportunities through clubs, competitions, seminars, sports events, and industrial exposure. These activities have helped me improve my communication, leadership, and teamwork skills . This way it allows me to work towards my goal of building a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry.

How do your teachers encourage your overall development?

Our teachers encourage us to participate in presentations, conferences, research activities, and practical laboratory work. They focus not only on academics but also on communication and give us opportunities to take part in events, which are essential for our careers.

It’s this blend of academic rigour and real-world exposure that is shaping me well beyond the classroom.

In what ways has Apeejay contributed to your personal growth?

Apeejay has made me more confident and disciplined. Through academics, extracurricular activities, and practical exposure, I have become more comfortable speaking in public, working in teams, and handling challenges with confidence.

What skills have you developed during your time at the university?

I have developed laboratory skills, analytical skills, documentation practices, presentation skills, and communication skills. I also gained knowledge about Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality standards, and pharmaceutical research through both coursework and practical training.

Can you tell us about your current internship?

I am currently interning in the Analytical Development Department at Sun Pharma. I got this opportunity through my teacher’s reference. My mentors helped me in strengthening my pharmaceutical concepts, laboratory techniques, analytical instruments, and communication skills.

What are your future career goals?

My goal is to build a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in Drug Regulatory Affairs, or to become a Drug Inspector.
