Keeping a child happy at school involves creating a supportive and nurturing environment that addresses their emotional, social, and academic needs. “This school fosters an atmosphere where the child feels comfortable expressing their thoughts, feelings, and concerns and encourages regular communication between teachers, parents, and the child to address any issues promptly,” shares Dimple Singh whose son, Rajdeep Singh studies in class II at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri.

Excerpts from the interview

Why did you select Apeejay for your child?

I have four kids, and my two elder ones who have now passed out were students of this school; they had studied here for the last 12 years. Since I know the great history and finest academic structure of this school, I decided to put my younger child here also. The institute even fulfills my expectations, infrastructure-wise.

How are the teachers here?

The teachers here are extremely supportive. All the subject teachers in the primary section are super amazing. They know how to deal with tiny tots and handle them patiently. One very important thing teachers follow here is – they keep a check on the child even after school hours. If by chance any teacher encounters my kids doing some mischief, they will without fail inform the parents. I believe this is how you fulfill the role of an ideal teacher.

How has this school honed your child?

My son is now seven years old and has been studying here since nursery. So far, my child has progressed manifold. I can say with confidence that everything a child needs for overall growth, the child will get here.

Are any special techniques used by the teachers here?

This school has introduced the technique of phonetics to help the kids learn faster. They introduced this technique during the COVID-19 time during online classes. I feel learning through sounds is a great way to make children learn many concepts. My child had learnt how to read a book in the nursery, which I haven’t seen happening in any other school.

What is the balance between extracurricular activities and academics?

There is a proper equal balance for both here. The teachers never force or believe in pressurising the child to only study, they do understand the importance of sports for holistic development.

Do you agree with the adage – that school is the second home for a child?

To be honest, this school has become more than a second home for my child. Whenever I meet the staff during some function or event, I always tell them that it feels like my kids are no longer my responsibility. I am only there to provide them food and shelter, the rest of the attachment, learning, and playing, they have only with this school.
