Tell us about yourself
I’m Abhishek Karagwal, staying in Gurgaon and currently working in Tata Capital as a sales manager in loan against property vertical. Speaking about my education, I pursued a PGM degree from Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka from 2021 – 2023. I graduated from IHM Rohtak and my schooling is from Chiranjeevi Bharti School, Gurgaon, I love to play football and enjoy travelling.
What does your typical day look like?
My day starts in the morning where I have to make several commitments of the leads that I will generate during the day. I have to visit various channels to initiate more leads by making good relations with them through the best service that I can provide and fulfilling all my commitments by processing the leads.
Tell us about your college life.
My college life was all about making new connections and working with them. Learning and research about various topics, making presentations in various competitions as well as events. My college exposure taught me how to survive my corporate life and grow stronger than the day before. The teachers taught us how to manage time and how to coordinate and manage human resources to get the work done smoothly and how to handle pressures at the workplace.
What specialisation you picked and why?
I picked marketing and operations during my college. First of all I love it because I enjoy interacting with people. I am good at networking and maintaining relationships. Secondly, the operations specialisation came handy because I have work experience at Haldirams. I was working there as a shift manager and my job profile was all about operations, hence I know about the things that are to be done during the day to day operations. Thus my specialisation was relatable and easy to understand since the concepts which were taught in the theory were the same that I was doing during my practical job.
How is the faculty at the college?
The faculty at the college is very helpful. All the teachers are well versed in handling management students and they work specially towards improving our personalities.

What is your dream and goal in life?
My dream is to come back to my college to recruit students during campus placements. I aspire to become a Manager soon and take interviews for hiring. My goal in life is to become happy and satisfied in whatever I do.
Q. Any message for the aspiring management students.
You don’t have to memorise the concepts to get good grades, rather start implementing those concepts in your life to get more understanding about them. Continue participating in various events and competitions to grow, learn and adapt. Have an adjustment nature to adapt according to the situations which will give you a lot of experience which can be good or bad. Remember that bad experiences are great teachers that teach us good lessons.
Your comments on the brain drain trend.
Brain drain is the migration of skilled and educated people from India to other countries, usually for better opportunities and living standards. It has negative effects on India, such as loss of human capital, tax revenue, innovation, and public services. It also has certain positive effects, such as brain gain, reverse brain drain, cultural diversity, and global citizenship. India needs to improve its education, R&D, jobs, and social conditions to retain and attract its talent, and also engage with its diaspora to benefit from their skills and networks. Brain drain is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon, which has both challenges and opportunities for India.
How did ASM help hone your skills?
ASM helped me in expanding my scope of opportunities which were lacking in me. Boosting my confidence to greater heights, as well as giving me a stage to showcase my talent which helped me to secure a place in one of the respected brands. I would like to thank the faculty for investing more time for students and showing concern about our weaknesses to convert them into strengths.
