Young Designers Make Their Mark at Ideometric Warrior 2K26

Apeejay Institute of Design students impress judges with sustainable and thoughtful interior design ideas.

Apeejay Institute of Design (AID) takes pride in announcing yet another student achievement from the Interior Design Department.  The students secured 3rd position in the Inter-College Competition Ideometric Warrior: Design Challenge III, 2K26, organised by Jagannath University at the Jagannath Community Centre.

The team including Sonika Prasad and Krishna Bhaduria (BTE VI Semester) secured the third position with their innovative salon-cum-spa design concept. Their presentation reflected strong conceptual clarity, thoughtful material selection, and confident articulation of design decisions.

Two teams from AID had participated in this competition. In addition to the winning team, another team included Riya Gautam (EDD IV Semester) and Kajal Doshad (EDD II Semester).

This accomplishment highlights the institute’s commitment to foster creativity, critical thinking, and professional competence among students, preparing them to excel in competitive and real-world design environments.

Sharing her thoughts, the participant from the winning team Sonika Prasad, BTE VI sem-Interior Design Department, expressed, “We are delighted to bag 3rd prize in the cutting edge competition of design at JCC. The experience was highly enriching and inspiring for us as design students. Apart from a design showcase of a space- “Salon cum Spa”, the event showcased a wide range of innovative ideas, especially in the field of sustainable and low-budget furniture design. Witnessing sustainable displays of other students, broadened our understanding and encouraged us to think more responsibly and innovatively as future designers.”

She further added, “It was a great platform to present our ideas, interact with fellow participants, and receive valuable feedback. The competition not only enhanced our learning but also boosted our confidence and exposure to real-world design challenges. Overall, it was a memorable experience that helped us gain new perspectives and understand the importance of sustainability in today’s design world.”        

                                                                                                     

Another participant, Riya Gautam, EDD IV sem -Interior Design Department mentioned, “We had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Ideometric Warrior Competition organised by Jagannath University. Students presented creative, practical solutions that emphasised the use of eco-friendly materials and cost-effective design strategies. We were also given the opportunity to showcase our own project, which provided us with a valuable platform to present our ideas, engage with fellow participants, and receive constructive feedback. This interaction significantly enhanced our learning experience and broadened our exposure.”
