UGC Wants Focus To Shift From Annual Exams To Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation

University Grants Commission (UGC) has suggested Universities to shift focus from the annual or semester level evaluation system. “Continuous complete evaluation must be inspired in universities and faculties… Summative evaluation is not going to suffice the necessity of testing all ranges of studying outcomes. Modular curriculum calls for evaluation at a number of intervals throughout and after achievement of studying outcomes specified for each module,” said UGC in a draft proposal.   “Cognitive expertise comparable to logical pondering, utility of information and expertise, and evaluation and synthesis of ideas and guidelines demand evaluation methods aside from summative paper pencil assessments. Innovative evaluation methods are for use by academics throughout the semester. Increased weightage of inner evaluation must be inspired together with revolutionary evaluation and evaluation methods,” said UCG.
