Perhaps, the most consistent and innovative poet whose regular submission not only adorns the Apeejay Newsroom website but also surprises the editors with regard to her choice of subjects out of the daily life.

Be it a poem that compares Google to a second mother, or a poem on school’s annual day or another one where cupboards teach us important life lessons, Janvi Sharma from Apeejay School, Tanda Road is a poet, who is enjoying her craft to the hilt and growing simply as the positive consequence.

Selected again as Promising Poet of this Week after many months, Janvi speaks about her love for poetry, new additions to her writing process and much more. Read on:

Janvi, what new poems have you read since we spoke last?

Many poems especially from The Bard of Avon i.e. William Shakespeare’s pen. His poems like Fear no more the heat o’ the sun,, The seven ages of man, Winter and many others have captivated my heart.

That is so heartening to know! We have observed that you have been writing a lot of poems on new subjects! What keeps you motivated?

I feel that it’s the beauty of poetry that keeps me motivated and also the support from my parents, teachers and friends. That acts greatly as a fuel to my motivation. The joy of writing poems is amazing and the joy is multiplied when I bring out innovative ideas on daily life emotions and objects.

So, how is your school motivating you?

My school has always been a guiding light for me. The environment here is very uplifting and the supportive nature of the teachers motivates me to write more and more.

What are the next poems you are going to write?

My upcoming poems do not have a single topic as I mainly write what I feel or I see around me. I think it all depends on the situation and the ideas that I may brainstorm at a specific moment.

You choose your subjects from everyday life. What inspires you in daily existence?

Everything in our life in fact every second of life can inspire us to pursue our hobbies. It is just about how we see it. It is pleasurable for me if I get to pen down each second of my life and frame it into a poem.

Any changes or additions in your writing process?

I mainly like to express my poems as a free verse but now I would like to write some poems in rhyme too though it will not change my writing style but add to it as a new page.

Do your friends read your poem when it gets published in the Apeejay Newsroom website?

My friends are supportive towards me, they inspire me and give me new ideas too and feel very great reading my poems to them as they get published in the Apeejay Newsroom  website.

What are your future targets as a poet?

I have set a target to always be engaged in writing and not leave it throughout my life. That is my prayer to the universe.
