This young girl swears by the adage – slow and steady wins the race. Her constant perseverance and patience finally rewarded her with great results. Meet Kavya Vijaya Kumar, student of class VII at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. “Like all the students, I too was very apprehensive of performing well. I had to deal with enough anxiety and stress but at the back of my head I believed, if I study every day, I can do wonders,” said the 12-year-old.

“I focused on one chapter at a time and made questions after reading the chapter to self-assess my learning. My most favourite subjects are Science and Math. Both these subjects ignite curiosity and inquisitiveness in me,” quipped Kavya.

She further calls her French teacher Abiba ma’am as her favourite and shares that she loves watching cartoons on TV during her free time. “I also like to read books authored by Thea Stilton. Her book series Geronimo Stilton is the most fascinating and interesting creation ever written. I am completely in awe of her and wish to meet her and tell her that I am a big fan of her someday,” she said.

An aspiring scientist and or a doctor, Kavya has a long way to go until she fulfils all her dreams. Till that time she is busy with extracurricular activities like sports and art. “I love to play badminton and draw scenic paintings. I have performed in various competitions and won many accolades,” shared the class VII student.

On a concluding note, Kavya mentions that her favourite food is pasta and momos. “Right now it feels like I am in the best phase of my life. I go to school, meet my friends and study and keep myself busy. I also get to eat momos whenever I am out with my family.”
