‘The midnight way’: Poem by Saurabh Mishra, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park

Walking on the path of adventure
Those horrific voices must be coming from the old and abandoned palace,
I’m walking down the path of steps,
Like someone is following me just like my shadow.
Being imprisoned or being in a rough statue.
It’s midnight and I’m walking on the road like an owl.
The voice of cracks or the voice of fear, is just not me.
Moving ahead with the strong goosebumps,
I’m frozen and can’t move ahead watching the steps.
Ringing sound around my head, mummering in the streets.
Just can’t stay here anymore, I have to run from those horrific steps.
But the steps are following me,
Scared of being captured, in this midnight way.
