Mr. Anup Sharma is an HR Manager with eInfochips Company. His daughters Dhruvi Sharma and Kanika Sharma are class 2 and 7 students at Apeejay Charkhi Dadri respectively. In an informal interview, Mr. Sharma applauds the rich legacy of Apeejay schools in the field of education and appreciates the school management’s prompt response mechanism in case of a parent complaint. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Charkhi Dadri over other schools for the admission of your daughters?

In our neighbourhood, a lot of options with regard to schools are not available. There are hardly two or three good schools. Out of them, I found Apeejay School Charkhi Dadri to be the best option since the Apeejay group has a history, a rich legacy of running schools. They have many well-reputed schools in the national capital region as well. I believe they have a school in Greater Noida and one or two in Faridabad as well. All the Apeejay schools follow the same curriculum and methodology. One of my relatives also had got his child at enrolled Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri. He had a great review to share about the school.

Please tell us about Dhruvi and Kanika and take us through their progress at school?

Both of my children are avid sportswomen. Kanika plays kho kho and is very good in football and athletics as well, particularly the running events. Dhruvi likes to play all sports but loves colouring and Math more. Kanika likes English and Social Science more. She writes great articles as well.

They are performing great at school. Their confidence is very high. They recently got a chance to speak in the assembly and manage the classes.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

Yes. I feel there are some areas of improvement but apart from that all the teachers are teaching very well. There are one or two teachers who were not present for some classes but the school has solved that problem now.

My elder daughter praises her Science teacher from sixth standard. She also praises the Math teacher Mr. Pankaj.

What is the best thing about the school?

The curriculum and activities of the school are very well planned. The school knows which activity will go well into the proper development of the student. The school is well structured. It does not function in an impulsive and unplanned manner.

Now that the schools are reopening from next week, are Dhruvi and Kanika excited to attend the physical classes?

Yes. We will be going to buy the new textbooks today. They are very excited.

How has the experience of the online classes been for Dhruvi and Kanika?

The online classes were alright. I did not find any problem in them Though I did notice one or two instances when the teachers were talking or the students were talking during the class and the class-time was being wasted. I conveyed it to the Principal and it was corrected immediately.
