Kavita Verma enrolled her son Evaan in Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, in nursery. Now in class 2, Evaan has shown “remarkable” improvement in his personality. In an interview, the mother reveals how the school helped in bringing about this change in her child. Read on:

Why did you choose Apeejay International Greater Noida?

At that time, we had just moved to Greater Noida from Faridabad and were looking for a good school for our son. Some of our friends and neighbours recommended Apeejay International Greater Noida. Besides, the school maintains a good student-teacher ratio, which was one of my primary concerns.

Now that Evaan has spent some years in the school, would you say the school has lived up to your expectations?

Yes! Evaan used to be a very shy boy but now he has changed remarkably! He interacts with people confidently. He has no inhibitions and always comes forward to participate in all kinds of activities being held in school. Storytelling sessions and show-and-tell activities have helped my son overcome stage fright and have built his communication skills. I am very happy with the progress my son has shown ever since he joined Apeejay.

What could be the reason behind this positive change?

The most important thing is that the teachers are totally impartial. They encourage every student to showcase his or her talent. My son showed great improvement in just one year of school, from nursery to kindergarten, and that was because he was constantly encouraged and pushed to do his best. It is only when you give a chance to a child that they are able to identify their skills and work on them.

What academic improvement have you seen in your son?

The approach the teachers follow to introduce a concept is lucid and engaging, making it easy for children to grasp the lessons. Experiential learning techniques, where students are taught through activities, have also helped stir their interest in learning.

What is your relationship with the teachers like? Do you exchange feedback with one another?

The teachers are very cooperative and are always there to address parents’ concerns. I am in regular touch with the teachers and call them for advice whenever required. Not just that, they are open to our feedback as well. I have given my suggestions to Evaan’s teacher on occasions, and she has acted on them.
