The Supreme Court rejected a writ petition filed seeking directions for rescheduling of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-UG examination, scheduled for September 12. The bench said, “When you hold exams for 16 lakhs students all factors are taken into account, we can’t defer it. The entire system can’t be changed for 1% of students.” The bench further said it does not want to interfere with the process and it will be ‘very unfair’ to reschedule it. “It will be very unfair to reschedule the examination. NEET is a very large examination. It is not state-wise, it is a nation-wide exam.”
