Creativity often finds its strongest expression when it is tied to real-world concerns. With this idea at its core, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised an Intra-class Soft Board Decoration Competition for Class VIII. The activity was designed not only to encourage artistic expression but also to build awareness around social and global issues.

The class was divided into four groups, each led by student leaders Navasha, Barkha, Harshil, and Bhavika. Each group worked on a distinct theme, allowing students to explore diverse perspectives while collaborating closely with their peers.

Navasha’s group focused on the impacts of war. Their display reflected the human cost and destruction caused by conflict, using strong visuals and messages that pointed towards the need for peace. Barkha’s group took up environmental degradation. They highlighted issues such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change, while also presenting practical solutions to protect the environment.

Harshil’s group worked on moral values, presenting ideas around honesty, kindness, respect, and responsibility. Their board emphasised the role of individual character in shaping society. Bhavika’s group explored India’s space journey, showcasing key ISRO missions and milestones that have contributed to the country’s achievements in space exploration.

The competition was judged on creativity, presentation, relevance, teamwork, and overall impact. Barkha’s group secured the first position, while Harshil’s and Navasha’s groups shared the second place. Bhavika’s group stood third. The classroom, for a brief time, turned into a space where ideas, concerns, and aspirations came together visually.

The Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, blessed the students and honoured them with certificates. “The Soft Board Decoration Competition was a wonderful platform for students to express their ideas on important themes like environment, moral values, and national achievements. Each group displayed excellent teamwork and originality. I congratulate all participants, especially the winners, for their outstanding efforts. Activities like these play a vital role in holistic development and encourage students to think critically and creatively,” Dr Vasishtha said.

The activity showed how classroom learning can extend beyond textbooks. It encouraged students to observe, reflect, and present their understanding of the world around them. Such initiatives continue to build confidence and shape thoughtful, aware individuals.
