What happens when you know that you are brainy and want to dwell deep into the world of quantum physics – this is what P Jonathan is waiting to decipher soon. Jonathan who is at present studying in class X at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park opens up about how he sailed through all the challenges during the ATSE exam to finally achieve a scholarship.
Read edited excerpts here.
How do you feel after receiving the ATSE scholarship?
Receiving the ATSE scholarship gave a boost to my motivation in my studies and it also helped me realise that I can excel further, given I put in increased hard work and preparation within a healthy competitive environment.

What are your plans ahead?
I plan to pursue Science with Math and give my best in the JEE entrance exam to become a successful IITian. I also wish to keep honing some of my other interests, such as playing the keyboard and improving my physique.
How did you prepare for the exam?
I prepared for the exam mainly by revisiting the chapters of Social Science. I used my previous year’s notes as a means of a quick revision and practised questions for math and science via the exemplar question bank.
What was the most challenging part of the exam?
The most challenging part of the exam for me was Social Science.
Which is your favourite subject and why?
My favourite subject is certainly Math. In the last couple of years, my love for the subject along with its various uses in fields of Science, especially Physics has increased. I have developed this interest due to how intriguing the subject is when analysed in depth.

How did Apeejay School support you for the exam?
The school faculty helped clear my doubts in all the subjects and provided me with methods and tricks to improve my efficiency, which is extremely necessary for such exams due to time constraints.
What’s your ambition?
My ambition is to work towards expanding the boundaries of those fields of science that are interrelated with mathematics, such as the study of Quantum Mechanics.
