To commemorate the 102nd birth anniversary of Shrimati Rajeshwari Paul, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, organised a special assembly and an art exhibition. The observance brought together music, dance, poetry, and visual art to reflect on her life, values, and contribution to education and society.

A tribute through performance

The special assembly was planned as a thoughtful tribute to Shrimati Rajeshwari Paul’s legacy. Students presented soulful bhajans, a graceful classical dance, and a heartfelt poem. Each presentation focused on values closely associated with her life, including compassion, humility, service, and respect for education.

A key moment of the assembly came when the school Principal, Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel, shared a message from Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education. The message was dedicated to her mother and recalled the vision, values, and contributions that continue to guide the Apeejay family.

The tribute gave students a chance to understand that a legacy is not remembered through words alone. It is carried forward through everyday choices, responsible action, and a willingness to serve others with sincerity.

Creativity takes centre stage

The school also organised Rajeshwari Kala Utsav, a vibrant art exhibition marking the occasion. Students from all grades participated and displayed artworks shaped by imagination, observation, and personal expression.

The exhibition reflected Shrimati Rajeshwari Paul’s belief in holistic development and the importance of giving young learners space to think, create, and express themselves. The range of student work also showed how art can help children communicate ideas and emotions that may not always find easy expression through words.

By combining remembrance with creativity, the school ensured that the occasion remained meaningful for students. The assembly introduced them to the legacy’s values, while the exhibition let them respond to those values in their own way. It also gave their creative efforts a thoughtful purpose and wider meaning.

The commemoration closed with a clear message. Compassion, service, creativity, and excellence remain relevant when they are practised, not simply recalled. Through the two events, Apeejay School, Model Town, encouraged students to carry these ideals into their learning, conduct, and future choices.
