The NISM Club of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, organised enthusiastic student participation in the Online Student Development Programme (SDP-4) on “Financial Literacy Series: Asset Classes and Goal-Based Investment Planning – II”, conducted by the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM). The programme provided students with valuable insights into investment planning, financial decision-making, and wealth creation, equipping them with practical knowledge essential for navigating today’s dynamic financial landscape.
The expert-led session focused on helping participants understand the significance of various asset classes and their role in achieving long-term financial goals. Students were introduced to goal-based investment planning, enabling them to appreciate the importance of aligning financial objectives with suitable investment avenues. The session also highlighted the relationship between risk and return, empowering participants to make informed financial decisions based on their individual goals and investment horizons.

A total of 78 students from the School of Management and the School of Engineering & Technology participated enthusiastically in the programme. The diverse participation reflected the growing awareness among students about the importance of financial literacy, irrespective of their academic discipline. Throughout the session, participants gained a deeper understanding of practical investment strategies and learned how disciplined financial planning can contribute to long-term financial security and wealth creation.
The programme emphasised that financial literacy has become an indispensable life skill in today’s rapidly changing economic environment. By exposing students to real-world investment concepts and responsible financial practices, the session encouraged them to adopt a thoughtful and informed approach to personal finance. The discussions helped demystify complex financial concepts, making them accessible and relevant for young learners preparing to enter professional careers.

Appreciating the enthusiastic participation of the students, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC, encouraged them to continue engaging in such knowledge-enhancing initiatives that promote financial awareness and responsible investing. He highlighted that programmes of this nature play a vital role in developing informed decision-makers capable of planning their financial futures wisely while contributing positively to society.
The successful participation of students was also acknowledged by Dr. Anu Sahi, IQAC Coordinator, who appreciated the dedicated efforts of the NISM Club members—Mr. Rohan Mahajan, Ms. Jahanvi Arora, Ms. Paramjit Kaur, Ms. Janki, and Ms. Preet Kamal—for motivating students to actively participate in the programme. She commended the club for fostering a culture of continuous learning and promoting financial awareness through meaningful academic engagements.

The programme concluded on an encouraging note, with participants expressing appreciation for the practical insights and real-world perspectives shared during the session. The experience not only enhanced their understanding of asset classes and investment planning but also reinforced the importance of making informed financial choices early in life.
Through such initiatives, Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus continues to strengthen its commitment to holistic student development by complementing academic learning with industry-relevant knowledge and life skills. The active involvement of the NISM Club reflects the institution’s ongoing efforts to prepare students as financially aware, responsible, and future-ready professionals capable of making sound decisions in an increasingly complex financial world.
