‘Over the time’: Poem by Saurabh Mishra, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park

The time which I spent with my friends,
The fun which I had with them was incredible.
Memorizing my days, to the best days.

Those days when we used to play together on the ground.
Those days when we shared our food.
Those days when we used to make fun of:
Our friends, other people and of course.
Laughing at ourselves.

Whenever I got into any problem, these guys were there for me,
Not like dumping me into the sky, or teasing me.
Teasing me like a teacher or man who is used to it,
Those were my heartbeat 

Because the heart is useless if it doesn’t beat. 

Same for friends, life is not alive without them.
No one can take the place of my friends.
But I think that one day will come 

When our paths will be different.
It gives me goosebumps, whether I will be able to meet them again?
As I don’t wanna lose them,
As over life, time comes and over time, my friends come.
