NTA Opens Registration for UGC NET December 2025 Examination

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the registration window for the UGC NET December 2025 examination. Aspirants aiming for the roles of Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), or PhD admissions can now apply through the official website — ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

According to the notification, the exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across various centres in India, covering 85 subjects. The UGC NET aims to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for research fellowships and teaching positions in universities and colleges.

Important Dates

The online submission of the application form will remain open from October 7 to November 7, 2025, up to 11:50 PM. The last date for fee payment is also November 7, 2025. The correction window for candidates to edit their application details will be available between November 10 and 12, 2025.


Details about the exam city, admit card release, and exam schedule will be announced later on the NTA’s official website. The examination date and time will be clearly mentioned on each candidate’s admit card.

Application Fee

The application fee structure for UGC NET December 2025 is as follows:

  • General (Unreserved) category: Rs 1,150
  • General-EWS and OBC-NCL categories: Rs 600
  • SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender candidates: Rs 325

The fee can be paid online through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

How to Apply

To register, candidates must visit the official website and click on the ‘UGC NET December 2025 Registration’ link. The process involves completing the registration, filling in academic and personal details, uploading the required documents (including a recent photograph and signature), and paying the application fee. Candidates are advised to download the confirmation page after successful submission for future reference.The NTA has emphasised that each candidate should submit only one application form, and submissions through any other mode will not be accepted.
