CLAT 2027 registration open till October 31

The registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 is currently underway, with candidates having until October 31, 2026, at 11:59 pm to submit their applications. The examination is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes at participating institutions.
The CLAT 2027 examination is scheduled to be held on December 6, 2026, from 2 pm to 4 pm. The exam will be conducted in offline, pen-and-paper mode. Candidates appearing under the eligible PwD category will receive additional time as prescribed by the Consortium.
CLAT 2027: Who can apply?
For the undergraduate programme, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with at least 45 per cent marks. The minimum requirement is 40 per cent for candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories. Students appearing for their Class 12 qualifying examination in 2027 can also apply, but they will have to produce proof of passing the examination at the time of admission.
For the postgraduate programme, candidates are required to have completed an LLB degree. The minimum qualifying marks are 50 per cent for general candidates and 45 per cent for SC/ST candidates, according to the eligibility details. Candidates appearing for their final-year qualifying examination can also apply.
There is no upper age limit for appearing in CLAT 2027.
CLAT 2027: How to apply?
Step 1:Candidates need to complete the application process online through the official CLAT website–consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Step 2: They must first register using their mobile number and email ID and verify the registration through an OTP.
Step 3: After logging in, applicants need to fill in their personal and academic details, select the relevant programme and category, upload the required documents and pay the application fee before submitting the form.
Step 4: The documents required include a recent passport-size photograph and signature, along with relevant category, PwD or BPL certificates wherever applicable.
The application fee is Rs 4,000 for General/OBC candidates and Rs 3,500 for SC/ST/BPL/PwD candidates. The fee can be paid online and is non-refundable.
The Consortium has advised candidates to complete their applications before the deadline and carefully verify the information entered, as changes to certain details are not permitted after final submission. The CLAT 2027 scores will be used for admissions to participating NLUs for the 2027-28 academic session.
