Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, marked the 80th Independence Day through activities that brought together patriotism, responsible citizenship, and spiritual reflection. Students and staff took part in the observance, which connected national pride with service, environmental care and gratitude.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the Tricolour by the Principal in the presence of students and staff. As the National Flag flew above the campus, the gathering remembered the sacrifices that made India’s freedom possible.
The moment also drew attention to the values linked with freedom. Unity, dignity, and responsibility remained at the heart of the observance. The Tricolour placed at the school gates carried the same message and reflected the joy surrounding Independence Day.
NCC cadets turn celebration into service
The school’s NCC cadets extended the occasion beyond the campus through a cycling rally and tree plantation drive. They cycled to Shivani Park in Jalandhar, carrying a message of patriotism, unity, discipline, and responsible citizenship.
At the park, the cadets planted trees as part of their commitment to a greener and healthier India. The activity placed a practical responsibility beside the celebration of freedom. It showed students that service to the country also includes care for its environment.

A quiet encounter with faith
The school also marked the sacred month of sawan through a temple visit by its young learners. The children offered prayers, sought blessings, and spent time in the calm surroundings of the temple.
The visit introduced them to the values of gratitude, devotion, and togetherness. Their prayers and cheerful participation made it a gentle learning experience rooted in faith and belonging.
Together, the activities gave students different ways to understand duty. The flag ceremony recalled the cost of freedom, the NCC initiatives turned responsibility into action, and the temple visit created space for gratitude. Each experience encouraged the young learners to carry these values into everyday life and contribute with care in the years ahead.
