Mr. Ashish Pandey is a loco pilot with the Indian Railways. He is the father of Kashish Pandey, a first year BBA student of the School of Management Studies, Apeejay Stya University (ASU). In an informal interview, he shares his reasons for choosing ASU, his daughter’s progress and his perception of the online mode of learning compelled by the pandemic. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose ASU over other universities for your daughter’s admission?

ASU is very close to our home. So that was very convenient for us. Also, I had gone to visit the campus and I found it to be very impressive. So these are the two main reasons for getting my daughter enrolled at ASU.

Please tell us a bit about your child and take us through her progress at ASU?

Her studies are going on fine. The classes are happening online at the moment due to the pandemic. She is performing well at ASU. Among her hobbies, Kashish enjoys music and dance the most. She likes to study Business Studies a lot among her subjects.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

My daughter tells me that all the teachers are teaching very well.  Most of the classes have taken place in the online mode. She has barely been to the campus once or twice.  She tells me that Professor Sunil Roy teaches very well. So, the teachers are engaging well with the students.

What is the best thing about ASU?

To be honest, I have visited the campus just once during the admissions. I think when I will witness any event or special day celebrations, perhaps I will be able to comment better. It has hardly been a few months in the college for Kashish,

What is your perception about the online classes?

It is the need of the hour. Of course, it is better to study in the physical classes but what cannot be cured has to be endured. However, my daughter tells me that the online classes are happening regularly. So that is good.
