To begin the process of learning and education, it is essential that one feels comfortable to learn. Only then can any progress happen. To better acquaint toddlers with the idea of school, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld in Jalandhar recently organised various play date sessions for preschoolers attending school for the first time. These orientation play dates spanned across four days.

On the 1st Day, the school focused on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere while introducing toddlers to their new environment. Children gathered in a circle and engaged in interactive songs, rhymes and simple games. This allowed them to start forming connections with their peers and teachers.

Following the circle hour, young learners had the opportunity to engage in various free play activities. A variety of toys, puzzles, building blocks and imaginative play props were provided to them to encourage exploration and creativity. This unstructured playtime allowed the children to become familiar with the classroom environment, discover new interests, and interact with their peers in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

Concluding the Day 1 playdate session, the school offered all students a free-hand colouring activity where the children could unleash their creativity through art. This activity not only promoted fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination but also provided a means for
self-expression and individuality.

Day 2 offered a dynamic blend of interactive activities designed to engage their minds, bodies, and imaginations. Through welcoming songs and movement-based experiences in the circle hour, children were provided with diverse opportunities for learning and development within a supportive and inclusive environment. Combining goal scoring with a paint craft activity, it offered students a multi-dimensional experience that stimulated both their physical and creative development.

Through kicking footballs into the net and expressing themselves through paint, children engaged in active play while also honing their artistic skills and imagination. This integrated technique encouraged a holistic approach to learning and provided a memorable and enjoyable experience for young children.

In a vibrant Day 3 playdate session, teachers led an engaging story session about animals. Children eagerly listened to fascinating stories about animals and their friends. After the storytelling, they participated in a craft activity where they created their own animal headgear using paper and crayons. With their imaginative creations in hand, the children joyfully pretended to be their favorite animals, embodying the spirit of the animal kingdom in the story hour.

While Day 4 included a hearty sensory walk and dance session that engaged children in playful movements and sensory exploration. Through activities, such as walking on paint, and dancing, the children heightened their sensory awareness and coordination skills. The session fostered creativity, physical development, and social interaction in a fun and inclusive environment, allowing the children to express themselves freely while learning through movement and sensory experiences.

The playdate sessions were a big hit as they cultivated a great love for school amongst the young buds. Tiddlers developed  a positive liking towards the classroom and looked eager to begin their learning journey.
