Hello Moon! Chandrayaan-3 touches down at the South Pole!

The launch of Chandrayaan-3 was scheduled for July 14, 2023 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Andhra Pradesh. It is a mission that consists of a lunar lander named Vikram and a lunar rover named Pragyan, similar to those launched aboard Chandrayaan-2 in 2019.

On July 14, every Indian hoped for the mission to be successful and it happened! It brought immense pride and joy to the nation and its people.

Last time, despite our best efforts, the country couldn’t make it to the moon. However, this was a fresh attempt by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Their team worked even harder to undo the setback of the Chandrayaan-2 mission. Hence, India scripted history by landing the lunar surface at 6:04 pm on 23 August. It successfully explored the South Pole of the lunar surface making us the only country to reach there.

Soon after landing on the moon, Pragyan rover came out of the Vikram lander observing the significant achievement of our country. No words are enough to express the emotions I feel about it. Lastly, I wish to say that I am happy and proud to be an Indian.
