Arijit RoyThe school, the teachers, and the students work hard throughout the year in pursuit of excellence – be it in academics or extracurricular activities. The Annual Appreciation Day marks that time in a year when the students’ and school’s achievements are recognised. The day is also a positive reinforcement for all, as it inspires the achievers to keep up with their level and encourages other students to progress and evolve.
To celebrate this, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri celebrated its Annual Appreciation Day with the theme – Sankalp — on December 25, 2022. The school has always motivated students toward learning and development which is in sync with this thought,
The event was graced by chief guest Mr Anurag Dhalia, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Charkhi Dadri. Celebrated actor-director in Punjabi film industry, Mr Brijesh Sharma was the guest of honour. Mr Sat Singh, a freelance BBC journalist was the special guest. All the invitees and special guests were welcomed with a tilak ceremony by the students.
The function commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Mr Dhalia in front of Goddess Saraswati’s photograph. Mr Rudrendra Basak, principal of Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri welcomed all the dignitaries by giving them a memento.
Speaking at the occasion Mr Dhalia while appreciating the hard work and excellent academic record of the school encouraged all students to continue their hard work and continue to achieve more accolades for the school and themselves. “For a person who has worked hard in his student life, the rest of life is spent with great joy. Therefore, in the field of study and livelihood, we should work hard in student life itself,” Mr Dhalia said.
Mr Basak welcomed all the guests present with a special thanks for Mr Dhalia for taking time out from his busy schedule and grace the school’s Annual Appreciation Day. He also thanked the special invitees, parents, and grandparents for their presence.
Presenting the annual progress report of the school he said that the school had a 100 per cent pass result in the senior-secondary exams with a school average of 82 per cent.
“Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri completed 30 years of its existence. Every year we celebrate our Annual Appreciation Day as a mark for all the good work done throughout the session, for all the major achievements of the students, and also for showcasing their cultural talent to all our stakeholders through a theme-based programme that is educative as well as entertaining. I congratulate all for the resounding success of the programme,” Mr Basak said.
For the prize distribution ceremony, the chief guest and other special invitees were called upon the stage and meritorious students, excelling in various fields were honoured with prizes and certificates. Four students, Akaansha from class XI, Aryan from class X, Kashish from class VIII, and Anshu from class VII were awarded the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values. This prestigious award is presented on the Annual Appreciation day annually to select students for imbibing core human values and diligently practicing them in life through actions, behaviour and conduct.
This was followed by the much-awaited cultural bonanza that won the heart of the audience — Sankalp — the pledge to preserve and protect the five natural elements: Fire, sky, water, air, and soil. The central theme for the event was the idea of building a better world for all.
The theme woven beautifully in a dance-drama depicted India’s multi-faceted culture through folk dances of different states. Rajasthani, Punjabi, and Haryanvi folk dances enthralled the audience that delighted them. Dressed in colourful attires, the whirling students were truly brilliant.
The message to maintain the unity and integrity of the country was conveyed pictorially through the performances by attacking terrorism through a mime. Within that context, the Mahishasur-Mardini dance performance symbolised the slaying of the inner demon to build a harmonious world.
Everyone present at the occasion also took a pledge which was in sync with the central theme — to conserve natural elements to create a better world.
Mr Basak thanked all students and teachers for organising this grand event and wished for the school to continue on its path of progress.
Harshil Bansal, the head boy of Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri gave the vote of thanks. He thanked President madam, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Co-Promoter and President of Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, and Co-Founder and Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University and other members of the Apeejay family, dignitaries, principal Mr Basak, teachers and students for making the event a huge success.
The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
