Ritu Goyal’s sons Kunj and Lojasav are in class III and class IV respectively at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri. The mother-of-two, who is a homemaker, appreciates the schoolteachers for putting their best efforts to boost children’s all-round development.

Excerpts:

Why did you enroll your sons in Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri?

We enrolled our sons in nursery. One of the reasons we chose the school was its proximity to our house. Not to mention, it is the top school in the area.

We have had a very good experience with the school so far. My son’s teachers are very cooperative — they managed online classes very well during Covid and were always there to guide parents. They are efficient and experienced.

In what ways do teachers boost children’s growth?

The best thing about the school is that the teachers treat every child in the class equally. Every child is motivated to participate in class activities and co-curricular activities. Children are moreover exposed to different kinds of activities that help explore their potential and hone their skills. Kunj used to be very shy earlier, but continuous participation has boosted his confidence. Now, he answers questions in class and interacts freely with everyone. All the class teachers till now have contributed to my sons’ development significantly.

Did you ever feel your children were being burdened with homework or classwork?

From the course modules to the teaching methods, everything is age-appropriate. Never have my children felt any burden or pressure when it comes to academics. The teachers use interactive and fun methods to explain each topic, from audio-visual presentations to activities. In Mathematics, for example, the teachers use different objects to explain addition or multiplication, and so on.

How do teachers help you keep track of your children’s progress?

Not just parent-teacher meetings, the teachers are also available for consultation on the phone at other times. They share useful feedback about my sons from time to time, which also helps us work on their weaknesses at home and track their improvement. The teachers and parents work hand-in-hand to ensure the child’s steady growth.

What measures does the school take to ensure children’s safety?

For instance, a student is never allowed to leave the school premises with someone other than the parents if not for special permission. Parents are made to fill up a form with respective emergency contacts. Within the campus too, the teachers and staff take good care of all children even during lunch breaks or when they are in the playground to make sure nobody gets injured.
