Empowering the Future: Significance and Purpose of National Youth Day in India

Apeejay School, Noida celebrates National Youth Day with reverence and inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s teachings

In observance of National Youth Day, Apeejay School, Noida embraced the profound words of Swami Vivekananda, urging everyone to ‘Arise, awake, and don’t stop until the goal is reached.’

The event took place on January 12, 2024, with students and teachers paying homage to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary. The commemoration featured a series of engaging activities, including invigorating yoga and meditation sessions to promote the physical and mental well-being of participants.

“National Youth Day is a celebration of youthfulness, potential, and the immense possibilities that lie within the young minds of the nation. It serves as a platform to channelise their energy positively for personal and societal development. On this day, let’s embrace the power of our dreams, the strength of our passion, and the potential within each of us,” says Abeer Bordoloi, Student of IX at Apeejay School, Noida.

The event provided a platform for insightful talks inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, encouraging youth to persevere in their journeys. The celebration also included a lively poster-making competition, and the air was filled with harmony and melody as students presented soulful songs.

“National Youth Day serves as a platform to engage students in meaningful activities that contribute to their holistic development. This year, our focus was on fostering creativity through poster making and promoting mental well-being through meditation exercises and shloka recitation. The primary goal of the poster-making activity was to encourage self-expression, critical thinking, and social awareness among students on the other hand meditation exercise and shloka recitations aimed to promote mental well-being, stress reduction, and emotional resilience among students,” shares Ms Ashoo Arora, Activity Coordinator, Middle Block, Apeejay School, Noida.


“As an outcome of these activities, Students developed their artistic skills and explored innovative ways of conveying messages through visual elements, critical thinking was also fostered. Articulating thoughts through images also helped students improve their ability to communicate ideas effectively. Students developed a better understanding of their emotions and learned strategies to cope with challenges, fostering emotional resilience,” Arora added further.

Through collective engagement, the school not only paid homage to Swami Vivekananda’s wisdom but also fostered a dynamic and inspiring atmosphere.
