Anushree Goswami’s children Jagriti and Jayesh are students of classes 8 and 6 respectively in Apeejay School, Faridabad. In an interview, the mother-of-two and homemaker highlights the school’s commendable efforts in promoting children’s overall development through co-curricular activities, practice sessions for competitive exams, and more. Read on to know what she thinks of the school and its faculty. Edited excerpts:

How did you decide to enroll your children Jagriti and Jayesh in Apeejay School, Faridabad?

My children Jagriti and Jayesh have been in this school since nursery. We had heard good things about Apeejay Faridabad and decided to apply there. During her interaction with the school principal, Jagriti narrated Rabindranath Tagore’s popular short story ‘Kabuliwala’. The principal was very impressed.

During our first visit to the school, what also caught our attention was their huge playground and the additional facilities, which eventually led us to enroll Jagriti in the school, followed by Jayesh.

What do you think of the overall educational environment provided by the school?

The school and its faculty are very good. Apeejay does not put any unnecessary burden on the students. Learning here is fun. Not just academics, Jagriti has shown a lot of progress through participation in various extra-curricular activities. Jayesh, on the other hand, is more inclined towards studies—from answering teachers’ questions to participating in class activities, he is always actively involved.

What kind of co-curricular activities does Jagriti like?

Jagriti regularly participates in inter-school competitions in dance, music, elocution, and so on. The teachers identified her interests very early and have been very supportive and encouraging. From voice modulation to public speaking, my daughter is being given every opportunity to work on her skills. The kind of exposure she gets has impacted her overall personality and made her very confident.

Do you think the school has been successful in cultivating your children’s interest in academics?

Learning at Apeejay is not just restricted to the syllabus. Teachers have been preparing students for several competitive exams as well like IMO (International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), SAT, etc. They regularly have practice sessions. Through interactive teaching methods, the school ensures a strong educational foundation for the students. Teachers explain all the concepts so well that I have never felt the need to arrange for private tuition for my children. Both my kids can manage self-study; in case of any doubt, they can always consult their teachers.

What is your opinion about the school teachers?

The teachers are very helpful. Even during online classes, we did not face any issues. Teachers regularly interact with parents as well through parent-teacher meetings (PTM) and give valuable feedback. Even if a parent misses any such PTM, the class teacher makes sure to call them later to keep them updated. I am very satisfied with the school.
