Mrs. Smriti Sharma is the Vice- President-Quality at Teleperformance India Pvt Ltd. Her husband Mr. Raja Sharma is the Operations Director at HCL Technologies. They are proud parents of Srinika Sharma and Reyansh Sharma, classes 3 and 5 students respectively at Apeejay School, Faridabad.  In a short interview, Mrs. Sharma lists her reasons for choosing the school and highlights the approachability of the school staff. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Faridabad ahead of other schools for Reyansh and Srinika’s admission?

The primary reason for choosing the school was that my husband is an alumnus of Apeejay School, Faridabad. So, he wanted both his children to study at the same school and learn, grow and evolve in the same environment. A second reason is that the school is near our home. So, these two reasons informed our decision to enroll our children here.

Please tell us a bit about Srinika and Reyansh and take us through their progress at school?

Reyansh is an avid reader. He loves to read. He is the Vice-Head boy in the junior cabinet at school. He reads a lot of fiction. He has finished the Harry Potter series and has also read ‘The heroes of Olympus’ series. Clearly, he has been reading a lot lately. He has also written articles for books that are going to be published very soon. There are two write-ups by him, one is an article titled ‘Why do I like to read so much’ and the second one is a small poem on environment that he had penned down. Srinika on the other hand is more interested in art and craft, music and dance. She isn’t as glued to books as Reyansh is but she is also very young at present. She is the youngest in the house and is much pampered. Both of them are performing really well at school. Both of them are in the top three students of their class. Among the subjects at school, Reyansh loves Math and Srinika is more inclined towards English.

Are the teachers engaging and supporting the students well?

Yes, teachers are giving their 120% especially since the pandemic. Hats off to the way they have been working in the online classes. I would like to thank all the teachers at the primary wing, sector 14 Faridabad branch. Ms. Beena Denson, Ms. Mamta Sood, Ms. Aarti Verma, Mr. Sandeep Oberoi, Ms. Archana Khanna, I would love to thank all of them for their tremendous support to the students.

What is the best thing about the school?

I think the best thing about the school is the approachability to the staff of the school. Be it Principal, headmistress or the teachers, everybody is very approachable and very polite. Ms. Ritu Panwar has done a great job in turning the school around.

How has the experience of the online classes been for Reyansh and Srinika?

It was excellent for the children. I have no complaints at all from the online classes. The way the teachers have taught in the online classes, they have given their 110% in every class. They have also written the notes and helped us parents cope up with the pressure of the online classes.  It was really fantastic. I have high praise for Apeejay School, Faridabad, in the online classes.
