The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully held the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2023 on August 20 in two separate shifts. A total of 29,03,903 candidates registered for the exam out of which 15,01,719 candidates registered for paper 1 and 14,02,184 candidates registered for paper 2. Spanning 136 cities, the 17th iteration of CTET was administered across 3,121 test centers.

To ensure the smooth and unbiased execution of the exam, an extensive workforce was meticulously deployed. This team encompassed 141 city coordinators, with five cities receiving an extra two coordinators each due to a higher number of exam centres. Additionally, the endeavour involved 3,121 center superintendents, 3,506 observers, and 599 CBSE personnel, all meticulously supervising the process.

In alignment with previous years, this year too, CBSE took measures to enhance the convenience of CTET candidates. The Board facilitated the provision of digital mark sheets and eligibility certificates through DigiLocker, contributing to the board’s eco-friendly ‘Green Initiative’.

A statement released by the board outlined the procedure: “DigiLocker accounts will be established for all appearing candidates, with the account credentials shared via the candidates’ registered mobile numbers with CBSE. This approach empowers candidates to effortlessly download their digital mark sheets and eligibility certificates.”

The official communication further noted the benefits of the digital format: “The digital mark sheet and eligibility certificate offer unparalleled convenience, accessible anytime and anywhere. Security is upheld by an encrypted QR code incorporated within the mark sheet and certificate, amenable to verification through the DigiLocker mobile app.”
