CLAT 2025 to be conducted in the first week of December

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has announced that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 will be held in the first week of December 2024. The application form is set to open in the first or second week of July.

The detailed notification and schedule for CLAT 2025 will soon be available on the consortium’s official website. According to an official statement from the Consortium of NLUs, registration for CLAT 2025 will commence by mid-July, and the exam is scheduled for the first week of December 2024, although specific dates are yet to be announced.

CLAT serves as the entrance exam for admission to 5-year LLB and LLM programs at 24 participating national law universities, including prestigious institutions like NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, WBNUJS Kolkata, and NLU Jodhpur.

Eligibility criteria for CLAT 2025 include a minimum of 45% marks in class 12 for CLAT UG candidates and a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in LLB for CLAT PG candidates. SC/ST/PwD candidates are granted a 5% relaxation in minimum score requirements. Additionally, there is no age limit for CLAT 2025 exam applicants.

CLAT is conducted in offline, pen-and-paper format across more than 130 cities nationwide. The exam consists of 120 questions covering subjects such as English language, current affairs, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, and quantitative techniques. For CLAT PG, the syllabus includes topics like constitutional law, administrative law, jurisprudence, company law, and international law, among others.
