Chartered Accountancy exams to be held three times in a year
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has made a significant decision to conduct the Chartered Accountancy (CA) exams three times annually starting in 2024. This decision was revealed during the 430th meeting of the ICAI held on March 7, 2024, in New Delhi.
The council has opted for exam sessions in January, May/June, and September, a departure from the previous schedule of May/June and January only. The exam will be conducted three times for Intermediate and Foundation courses.
According to an official statement from ICAI, “It has been decided that in order to facilitate the students, Intermediate and Foundation course examinations will be conducted thrice in a year in the months of January, May/June and September. Earlier both the examinations were held twice in a year. Globally, the frequency of examinations is more so that students can get more opportunities to sit in the exam. Considering this, ICAI has aligned itself with Global best practices.”
