A safe and respectful workplace depends on more than policies. It requires awareness, mutual understanding and a shared commitment to treating every individual with dignity. Recognising the importance of these principles, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, organised a POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Awareness Session for its teaching staff.
The session was conducted by Advocate Akshita Kumar, who familiarised the educators with the provisions of the POSH Act and their rights and responsibilities under it. The discussion also emphasised the importance of professional ethics in maintaining a respectful and secure working environment.

Understanding rights and responsibilities
During the session, the advocate highlighted the significance of gender sensitivity and mutual respect in professional interactions. She also addressed the need for greater awareness of redressal mechanisms and the prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace.
The discussion brought attention to the responsibility individuals share in maintaining an environment where everyone feels respected. Understanding workplace rights, recognising professional boundaries and being aware of the available mechanisms for addressing concerns formed important aspects of the session.

Towards a safer workplace
The interactive session provided an opportunity to reinforce the principles of trust, dignity and accountability. It also drew attention to the need for continued awareness among educators, particularly in ensuring that professional conduct reflects the values of fairness and respect.
Through this initiative, Apeejay School, Model Town, reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive and equitable workplace for its staff. The emphasis remained on ensuring that every individual feels secure, respected and empowered in their professional environment.
The session ultimately reinforced a central message: Workplace dignity cannot rest on policies alone. It must be reflected in everyday conduct, professional relationships and the collective responsibility of everyone within an organisation.
