CBSE class XII History Board exam paper analysis: It was well-balanced and easy

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on March 29, 2023, (Wednesday) conducted the class XII History paper from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Students got three hours to complete the question paper. The class XII Board exam is an important exam for students since it starts a student’s academic as well as professional journey. This exam conducted by the CBSE plays an important role in a student’s life.

The History exam was out of 80 marks. The students were required to attempt a total of 34 questions which were divided into five sections.

The format of the paper:

Section A: Questions 1 to 21 – MCQs, 1 mark each.

Section B: Questions 22 to 27 – Short answer type questions, 3 marks each.

Section C: Questions 28 to 30 – Long answer type questions, 8 marks each.

Section D: Questions 31 to 33 – Source-based questions (three sub-questions), 4 marks each.

Section E: Questions 34 – Map-based, 5 marks.

According to Archana Chaudhary, PGT History at Apeejay School, Svran Global in Faridabad, Sector 21 D, the question paper didn’t deviate from what was expected. “I spoke to the students who took the History exam and they told me that they had done the paper well. They were confident they had attempted the paper well,” Chaudhary said.

The CBSE has set up 7,250 exam centres across the nation and 26 countries abroad. The total number of registered candidates for class XII is 16.9 lakh candidates. Out of these, 7.4 lakh are girl students, and 9.51 are boys. The class XII exams will be conducted for 36 days and will be over on April 5, 2023. The CBSE conducted exams in 115 subjects for class XII.

The results are slated to be released in May 2023 on CBSE’s official website.

The question paper didn’t deviate from what was expected. Every topic from the syllabus was covered properly.
