Recognising the growing importance of digital literacy and online safety, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised an enlightening and highly interactive Cyber Security Workshop for students of Classes VI and VII. The workshop aimed to create awareness about the responsible and safe use of the internet, social media, digital devices, and online platforms, empowering students to become informed and vigilant digital citizens.
The resource person for the session was Mr. Tapan Hada, a third-year B.Tech student specialising in Cyber Security, who shared valuable insights into the ever-evolving digital landscape. His engaging and student-friendly approach made complex cyber security concepts easy to understand, ensuring that young learners could relate them to their everyday online experiences.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Principal Dr. Vineet Vasishtha, who introduced the speaker and highlighted the increasing significance of cyber awareness in today’s technology-driven world. Stressing that digital responsibility is an essential life skill, he encouraged students to adopt safe online practices and use technology wisely.
Addressing the students, Dr. Vineet Vasishtha said, “In today’s digital age, cyber awareness is as important as academic learning. Our students must understand both the opportunities and the risks associated with technology. I sincerely appreciate Mr. Tapan Hada for conducting such an informative and engaging session. I encourage every student to practise safe online behaviour, think responsibly before sharing information, and become a vigilant digital citizen. Together, we can create a secure and positive digital environment for all.”
During the workshop, Mr. Hada explained various aspects of cyber security in a simple, practical, and interactive manner. He familiarised students with common cyber threats, including phishing attacks, online fraud, identity theft, cyberbullying, fake websites, malicious links, and gaming scams. Through relatable examples, he illustrated how cyber criminals often exploit carelessness on the internet and emphasised the need to remain alert while navigating the digital world.

Students were introduced to essential cyber safety practices such as creating strong passwords, safeguarding personal information, enabling two-factor authentication, and avoiding interactions with unknown individuals on social media and gaming platforms. Mr. Hada also demonstrated how to identify suspicious emails, fraudulent websites, and misleading online messages, encouraging students to think critically before clicking unfamiliar links or sharing personal information.
A major highlight of the workshop was the discussion on digital etiquette, online privacy, and responsible internet behaviour. Students were advised to immediately report any suspicious online activity to their parents or teachers and to exercise caution while engaging with digital platforms. Real-life examples and practical scenarios helped reinforce these important lessons, making the session both informative and memorable.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively responded to questions, shared their own online experiences, and sought guidance on various aspects of internet safety. The interactive question-and-answer session proved especially engaging, allowing participants to clarify their doubts while gaining practical knowledge about staying safe in the digital space.
At the conclusion of the programme, Dr. Vineet Vasishtha presented Mr. Tapan Hada with a token of appreciation in recognition of his valuable contribution. He commended the resource person for delivering a session that was informative, relevant, and highly engaging for young learners.
The workshop concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing the importance of responsible digital citizenship. By equipping students with practical knowledge and essential cyber safety skills, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri reaffirmed its commitment to preparing learners not only for academic success but also for the challenges of an increasingly connected digital world.
