Apeejay students shine in Samunnati 2023 

In this Student Biennale, Apeejay Institute of Technology – School of Architecture and Planning wins in several competitions

Adding another feather of achievement, Apeejay Institute of Technology – School of Architecture and Planning (AIT-SAP), Greater Noida has emerged as winners in Samunnati 2023 ,the India Art, Architecture and Design Student Biennale, which was organised by the Council of Architecture in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

In the Ekya Art Installation Competition, the 1st prize was shared by two teams  from AIT-SAP.  Team one including 3rd semester B. Arch students Kshiraja Kaushik, Arjun Sharma, Suhani Jain, Anwarul Hasan Siddiqe and Abhishek Yadav bagged this position for installing a unique artwork – Blooming Wisdom – that represented the career life journey of a human being. The installation represented the idea that a person starting from his birth has nothing but the power to gain knowledge. The installation was designed using a 9-cube idea – each showcasing a different path in the career journey.   

The next team who also won the 1st prize had designed an installation themed Twistale. Third as well as fifth semester B. Arch students including Sujal Rohila, Ojasvi Singh, Jeba, Nitin Bhati, Sneha Sharma and Divyakshi Gaur were the creators of this innovative installation. The idea showcased was the architectural spirit of a pyramid , symobilising the revival and importance of books. The seating installation, shaped like a metaphorical pyramid of books, established a dynamic space where individuals can joyfully share their book knowledge, cultivating a lively exchange of ideas.

Budding architects left no stone unturned in showcasing their talent in other competitions of Samunnati 2023. In the Poster Making Competition, Kartikay Singh and Kime Oken emerged as first runner-up.

Apeejay Institute of Technology – School of Architecture and Planning (AIT-SAP), Greater Noida also won the first as well as second runner-up position in the Wall Painting Competition (on the spot).  Students Sujal Rohila, Ojasvi Singh, Akanksha Sharma, Pulkit and Harshal Sharma had painted “Expression of Emotion” and the second runner-up team, including Anjali Kumari, Akash Singh, Mohd. Atif, Deeksha Yadav and Aaratrika Maurya, had painted a wall art themed “Fantasy & Mythology”.  

AIT-SAP students had created more than 10 installations in this first-ever student Biennale- Samunnati that was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.  The Student Biennale held at Lalit Kala Akademi provided an opportunity for students to showcase their work, interact with peers & professionals, and gain valuable exposure within the architecture community through design competitions, display of heritage, installation designs, workshops, etc.
