Apeejay students explore retail management concepts at Eastwood Village Mall

The Marketing Club of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar recently organised  an insightful and exciting educational visit for the BBA and B.Com (H) students to Eastwood Village – Retail Mall in Jalandhar. This visit aimed to offer students a first-hand experience of the dynamic field of Retail Management, exposing them to the latest industry developments.

The students exhibited tremendous zeal and enthusiasm as they eagerly explored the various retail outlets housed within Eastwood Village. The primary objective of this educational excursion was to acquaint the students with contemporary practices in Retail Management while  providing them with practical exposure to critical concepts within the retail industry.

During the visit, students had the unique opportunity to witness and understand the intricacies of retail management, including assortment of merchandise, retail floor layouts, stocking and product displays, payment systems, and the variety of services offered in a modern retail setting. These
real-world encounters allowed them to connect the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom with the practical aspects of the retail business.

Eastwood Village – Retail Mall proved to be an ideal destination for this educational outing. The students observed how this high street mall effectively integrates global dining, fashion, and a wide array of other retail outlets. The planned architectural design of the mall showcased the clever strategy to engage visitors by providing them with a diverse, comprehensive, and dynamic shopping and dining experience, all in one location.

Dr. Rajneesh Arya, Dean of the School of Management at AIMETC, Mr. Rahul Handa, Faculty Coordinator of the School of Management, accompanied the students on this enlightening visit. Their presence and guidance were invaluable in facilitating a deeper understanding of the concepts explored during the trip.

Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, appreciated the efforts of the Marketing Club and other clubs in organising educational trips. He commended the students for their active participation and the clubs for their dedication to providing practical and visual experiences to enhance the students’ education. He highlighted, “These excursions contribute significantly to the students’ holistic development and deepen their appreciation of the practical applications of their academic pursuits.”

In conclusion, the educational visit was an enriching experience for the students. The trip provided them with a unique opportunity to explore the retail industry’s practical aspects and witness firsthand how retail businesses operate in a dynamic and ever-changing market.
