Sunder Basantani, Senior Service Manager, Wipro, and Jasleen Kaur Sethi, HR Payroll Manager, Procloz, heard a lot of praise about Apeejay School, Pitampura, from fellow parents, which encouraged them to pick the same for their daughter Hinaya. While it is just the beginning of a long educational journey, the parents are highly impressed with the pace at which their daughter is learning at school. In an interview, they take us through their overall experience, from the time of admission to the online classes.

What made you shortlist Apeejay School, Pitampura, for your daughter?

Sunder: I prepared a list of top schools, which included Apeejay School, Pitampura. It was a lucky draw through which we got admission. Many of our friends had already enrolled their kids in this school and were very happy with their progress, apart from the faculty and facilities offered.

Jasleen: We also checked the pass record for the school, and we found it had topped the chart in North Delhi. This, even more, encouraged us to opt for Apeejay even though there was an opportunity in other schools as well.

What kind of feedback did you receive about Apeejay School from your friends?

Jasleen: They told us about the inter-school events that Apeejay actively takes part in, which they appreciated. It is not just about learning from books; extra-curricular activities are also an important part of education.

From your experiences so far, do you think you made the right choice by enrolling your daughter at Apeejay?

Jasleen: When I compare my daughter’s progress with those of the others, there is a lot of difference. My daughter is only in Nursery, but she has already picked up three-letter words. To see her memorise the words, read and write them, is impressive. She has also participated in a lot of competitions and won accolades. Her teacher has been nominating her for various such events. I can say that the school has exceeded our expectations.

Sunder: The teachers are very consistent. Each child is given equal opportunity and time. Teachers pay attention to every detail. Even our friends, whose children study in different schools, are amazed to see the pace at which my child is learning.

Do you approve of the teaching methodology in the online classes?

Sunder: The methodology is great. Thematic learning is not only interesting but beneficial too, I think. Besides, the teachers, as professional as they are, do not put a hard stop to a class. If the students are in the middle of learning something, the teacher allows them enough time to grasp it, which is great.

Jasleen: As working parents, it sometimes gets a little difficult to prepare for our child’s school activities that happen so frequently. Having said that, I would really like to appreciate Hinaya’s class teacher for being able to manage a class of 50 students so efficiently. Initially, I was a bit hesitant, but I think she is doing a commendable job. She gives them personal attention.

Did you visit the campus before admission? What was the interaction with the faculty like?

Sunder: We had a brief interaction with the principal. Hinaya also visited the school during that time.

Jasleen: We liked the campus. The school was well-maintained with neat and clean surroundings. The teachers were also approachable; they helped us while filling the forms.

Do teachers keep you up to date with the developments in class?

Jasleen: Absolutely! My daughter’s class teacher not only shares updates about the class but also shares news on the school’s overall achievements.

Would you recommend Apeejay School, Pitampura, to others?

Jasleen: Definitely! It is great to see how the school has been running full-fledged online classes. But parents also must put their best efforts if they want to see their child “soar high.”
