Academicians discuss how to enhance research acumen 

Sessions on enhancing research acumen are vital for honing critical skills, fostering a research-oriented mindset, and developing the ability to navigate academic challenges. They empower individuals to conduct rigorous research, contribute to knowledge, and excel in scholarly pursuits. Enhancing research acumen is a cornerstone for academic and professional success, facilitating continuous learning and growth.

Thus as part of their Faculty Development Programme (FDP),  Vijay Patil School of Management, an integral part of DY Patil Deemed to be University, Navi Mumbai, recently invited Prof. Anuj Kumar, Assistant Professor at Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka, along with Dr. Nishu Ayedee, Founder and CMO, Confab 360 Degree, to deliver a session on “Enhancing Research Acumen”.

The session commenced with a welcome introduction delivered by Dr.Purvi Pujari, Professor at Vijay Patil School of Management. Dr. Purvi Pujari, who is a highly experienced academician and researcher with a doctorate in Economics and a gold medal in her post-graduation, expressed her gratitude towards Prof. Kumar and Dr. Nishu. She mentioned, “This FDP provided a platform for faculty members from various domains and areas to find solutions to their problems related to the publication process.”

Attended by a total of 25 participants, the session featured a deliberation on topic selection for publication in high quality journals. Prof. Kumar also emphasised the importance of collaboration for research and publication. He highlighted the various concerns researchers face during the publication process and how to address those concerns. 

Further, Dr. Nishu highlighted the importance of selecting good conferences and how to start a research paper with a structure containing the essential information. She also deliberated on funding-based projects.

In the end, Prof. Anuj Kumar said, “I have been wishing to visit Mumbai from a long time, and finally, I got this opportunity to take a session at VPSM. I am mesmerised by the infrastructure of VPSM, Navi Mumbai. It was cheerful and motivating to come and take a session over here. Thank you Dr. Purvi Pujari for organising the session.”
