On a bright and promising morning of February 22, 2024, the Vishnudas Bhave Natyagruha in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, was abuzz with anticipation and excitement. It was a day earmarked for celebration, reflection, and forward-looking aspirations as Apeejay School, Nerul, came together to mark its Pre-primary Annual Appreciation Day for the academic year 2023-24. The event unfolded against the backdrop of Hellen Keller’s profound thought, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much,” setting the tone for a day filled with unity, creativity, and learning.

A Beacon of Unity and Learning

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, a symbolic act signifying enlightenment, knowledge, and a journey from darkness to light. Graced by the presence of Mrs Pushpalata Dighe, Senior Police Inspector, and Ms Vinita Vyas, a theatre professional filmmaker leadership coach and proud alumna of Apeejay School, the event underscored the importance of community and the shared pursuit of growth and development.

A Visionary Address

The gathering was addressed by Mr P Subhash, the Principal of Apeejay School, Nerul, whose speech was a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic development in a world marked by competition and challenges. He emphasised the indispensable role of education in fostering not just academic excellence but all-around development in students. Sharing a story that metaphorically illustrated the need for young minds to break free and soar, Mr Subhash encapsulated the essence of growth and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

Celebrating a Year of Learning and Growth

Ms Mrinalini Singh, the Pre-Primary Coordinator, took the stage to present the Annual Report, a comprehensive account of the year’s achievements, learning initiatives, and the myriad ways in which the school has endeavoured to adapt and innovate in its teaching methodologies. Highlighting the reciprocal nature of learning at Apeejay, she shed light on the personalised attention and adaptive strategies employed to cater to the unique needs of each child. The report also celebrated the various cultural and educational activities that have played a crucial role in enhancing the creative and intellectual faculties of the students, preparing them for the challenges ahead.

A Tribute to Young Achievers

The event also featured a Prize Distribution ceremony, a heart-warming acknowledgment of the efforts and achievements of the young learners. The ceremony, presided over by the Principal, Vice-principal, and esteemed guests, was not just a celebration of achievements but a moment of encouragement, inspiring the students to aim higher and dream bigger.

A Mosaic of Cultural Expressions

The highlight of the day was the thematic presentation on “Unity is Strength,” beautifully brought to life through a tapestry of cultural performances. Each performance, whether it was the grace of Rabindra Nritya, the vibrancy of Lavani, the elegance of Kathakali and Mohiniyattam, or the energy of Bhangra and Giddha, celebrated the rich cultural diversity of India. These performances were not just displays of talent but were imbued with the message of unity, collaboration, and the strength found in coming together.

A Story of Teamwork and Collaboration

Adding a layer of charm and engagement to the event, beloved characters Doraemon, Nobita, and Chutki narrated a heart-warming story emphasising the importance of unity and cooperation. Through their narrative, they reinforced the idea that teamwork and collaboration are indispensable for overcoming challenges and achieving success, a lesson that resonates with the ethos of Apeejay School.

The event drew to a close with a Vote of Thanks delivered by a young student, whose words were a reflection of maturity, gratitude, and a deep understanding of the values of unity and teamwork. His eloquence and the sincerity of his message were a fitting conclusion to an event that celebrated learning, achievements, and the collective spirit of the Apeejay School community.
