After the summer break, the first day back in school often carries a mix of excitement, hesitation, and fresh energy. At Apeejay School, Saket, kindergarten students marked this return with a simple and cheerful classroom activity titled Pass the Panda, Share the Fun.
The activity was planned to help young learners settle back into the rhythm of school warmly and familiarly. Instead of beginning the day with routine instructions, the children were invited to sit together, hold a panda toy, and share one favourite memory from their holidays.
A gentle start after the break
For kindergarten children, returning to class after a long break can feel like a big shift. The activity gave them a chance to speak, listen, and reconnect with their classmates at their pace.
As the panda moved from one child to another, the classroom filled with small stories from the summer holidays. Some children spoke with excitement, while others listened closely, waiting for their turn. The mood remained light, happy, and welcoming.

Learning through sharing
What made the activity meaningful was its simplicity. Holding the panda gave each child a clear turn to speak. It also helped them understand that every friend’s memory mattered.
Activities like these support confidence, expression, and listening skills in the early years. They also remind children that school is not only about lessons. It is also a place where they can share experiences, build friendships, and feel comfortable in a group.
Through Pass the Panda, Share the Fun, the kindergarten students at Apeejay School, Saket, began their post-break learning journey on a joyful note. The activity helped them ease back into school life while carrying a little piece of their holiday happiness with them.
